Blown-In Attic Insulation Edmonton

Cold Rooms, High Heating Bills, Icicles Along the Eaves?

Many older Edmonton-area homes still have the insulation they were built with — settled, uneven, thin at the eaves, and full of holes where someone crawled through to run a wire or a bath fan. The result is rooms that never warm up, a furnace that never stops, and a roof that sheds snow faster above the warm spots than anywhere else. Blown-in insulation fixes the coverage problem. Done properly, it fixes the comfort problem too.

Why Attic Insulation Underperforms

It's rarely just 'not enough insulation.' In most attics we see, the existing insulation is being undermined by one or more of these:

  • Insulation has settled or been compressed by people and storage over the years
  • Thin or missing coverage at the eaves, where the roof slope pinches the space
  • Air leaks from the house — top plates, pot lights, plumbing stacks, the attic hatch
  • Bath or kitchen fans venting into the attic instead of outside
  • Soffit vents blocked by insulation, so the attic can’t breathe
  • Gaps and voids left after electricians, cable installers or renovations

How We Insulate an Attic

1

Attic Inspection

We go up and look: existing depth and condition, air leaks, ventilation, fan ducting, any frost or staining on the roof deck, wiring, and anything that should come out before new material goes in.

2

Written Quote

You get a clear scope: what we’re sealing, what we’re fixing, the depth we’re blowing to, and the price. No change orders later.

3

Air Sealing

Top plates, wiring and plumbing penetrations, chases and the hatch sealed before anything is blown in. Bath fans ducted outside if they aren’t already.

4

Baffles & Dams

Baffles installed at the soffit bays to keep intake air moving, and a dam around the hatch so the insulation stays where it belongs.

5

Blow-In & Depth Markers

Insulation blown to an even depth across the whole attic — corners and eaves included — with depth markers set so the result can be checked.

6

Clean Up & Walkthrough

We protect the path into the house, clean up when we’re done, and show you photos of what was sealed and installed.
